HOW TO WRITE A PARAGRAPH I
A paragraph is a group of sentences that are connected logically following and developing the same idea. A paragraph can be a group of 4 or 5 sentences together.
A topic sentence is the most important sentence in a paragraph. It helps to organize the paragraph by summarizing the information in the paragraph. In formal writing, the topic sentence is usually the first sentence in a paragraph.
TOPIC SENTENCES AND CONTROLLING IDEAS
Every topic sentence will have a topic and a controlling idea. This last one shows the
direction the
paragraph will take.
