FUTURE PERFECT

We use the Future Perfect for an action which will have been completed before a certain point of time in the future.

Examples:

a. The plane will have landed by 7 o’clock this evening.
b. I will have chosen the best airline by June.
c. They will have boarded by the time I get to the airport.

We also use this tense for an action which will have been completed before another action in the future, the action which happens second is in the Present Simple.

Ann will have been at arrivals for 2 hours by the time

Jenny will have been a travel agent for 15 years

her mother arrives.

by the time she retires.


We use “by + point of time” with Future Perfect.

by 7:30am         by tomorrow morning         by then
by Sunday           by the time           by next month, etc

Example:

a. By tomorrow morning, I will have completed my homework.

Affirmative Structure:  WILL + HAVE + VERB (past participle) 

• By this time next week, I will have traveled in business class three times.
• Before he gets to the departure, Charles will have checked that his canyon is not heavy. 

Negative Structure:   WON’T + HAVE + VERB (past participle) 

• By this time next week, I won’t have traveled in business class three times. 
• Before he gets to the departure, Charles won’t have checked that his canyon is not heavy.

Interrogative Structure:  WILL + SUBJECT + HAVE + VERB (past participle)? 

• By this time next week, will you have traveled in business class 3 times?
• Before he gets to the departure, will Charles have checked that his canyon is not heavy?
