Vocabulary

1. Be classified (v): /bi/ /ˈklæsəˌfaɪd/ Ser clasificado
Classified information is officially secret and allowed to be known by only a few people connected with the government.
Example: Works at NASA are classified because there are horrific information for us.

2. Bycatch (n): /baɪkæʧ/ Captura accesoria
It is a fish or other marine species that is caught unintentionally while catching certain target species and target sizes of fish.
Example: Fishermen in the town always have bycatch every morning.

3. Exotic pet (n): /ɪgˈzɑtɪk/ /pɛt/ Mascota extraña
It is a rare or unusual animal pet, or an animal kept within human households.
Example: Some rich people love having a jaguar as an exotic pet.

4. Extinct (adj): /ɪkˈstɪŋkt/ Extinguido
No longer exists.
Example: The Tasmanian wolf is in extinct.

5. Fishing gear (n): /ˈfɪʃɪŋ/ /gɪr/ Equipo de pesca
The equipment used by fishermen when fishing.
Example: James went fishing, but he forgot the fishing gear at home.

6. Fishing practice (n): /ˈfɪʃɪŋ/ /ˈpræktɪs/ Práctica de pesca
The activity of fishing.
Example: Daniel’s son wants to do some fishing practice when he gets older.
